This talk explores how quantum behaviour can emerge in objects far larger than atoms. Dr Jayadev Vijayan explains how trapping tiny particles with light allows their motion to reach the quantum regime, revealing where the boundary between classical and quantum physics begins; opening possibilities for ultra-sensitive future technologies.

After dark, we target the Moon and Saturn through the 151-year-old 31cm Grubb refractor telescope.
Child-friendly activities will be run alongside the observing queue.

Topics of discussion may include: Space Tourism, AI and Robotics, Purpose of Habitation on Other Planets, Public versus Private Sector Influence in Space Industry, and Moon versus Mars Colonisation.
